My name is Mike Corley.  I have been bowling since I was 6 years old.  That's 33 years if anyone is counting.  Competitively since I was 17.  Me and Dana married 1 1/2 years ago after dating for 12 years.  She is the definition of PATIENCE.  BOWLING IS OUR LIFE!
Dana has worked for Franklin Lanes for over 17 years.  She is the bar manager.  She also bowls 2 leagues.  We live and bowl in Franklin, TN, which is 20 miles south of Nashville, TN.

Did I mention I am also a huge University of Tennessee fan.  Rough year in 2008.  Been a fan since 1982, so I better stick with it.

If I am not watching UT football/basketball
its NASCAR.
Never miss a race.  Bill Elliott is my driver.  He drove #9 so I continued with Kasey Kahne's #9 Budweiser sponsor.

I started a website, www.mikecorleybowling.com , about 2 years ago.  I have information about our leagues, tournaments, and personal stuff (includes a link on my facebook page).  I encourage everyone to check it out and let me know what you think.

I have been a league secretary for 7 years.  I am secretary of 4 leagues and participate in 1 more.  Thursday Nite Division X Mixed is my premier league.  This league has unbelievably devoted bowlers.  They support a number of causes which include:  Annual donations to the BVL (The Bowlers to Veteran's Link), donations to support past and present league bowlers that may have family or medical issues, and this year, We decided to support the Franklin Police Dept.'s program to collect toys for underprivileged children.  As I said, this is an amazing group of bowlers.

I organize tournaments for our bowlers and assist with others.  Some of our tournaments include:  USBC Nationals (Las Vegas, NV), Hoinke Classic (Cincinnati, OH), Louisville Derby (Louisville, KY), Tennessee State Tournament, and Nashville City Tournament.

My music.  Hope you enjoy.  I will try and change it periodically.

I am borrowing a quote from a new friend of mine,
so here goes:

I got my toes in the water, ass in the sand
Not a worry in the world, a cold beer in my hand
Life is good today. Life is good today.

Hey Mike
Reno, Well, let's just say WE HAD A GREAT TIME!!.  I went Friday before I left on Sat. and tried to bowl.  I threw one ball and knew it just wasn't going to be able to happen despite what the Dr. & Therapist told me.  I ended up walking to the line and throwing.  It beat a zero but not by much.  Our team did win one of the Pride Awards and I am very proud of that and a couple of the girls went to Tahoe for the day.  Overall we had a pretty good time.  I managed to get thru 3 games tonight.  The first "real" bowling I have done since March 5th.  Actually rolled a 567 and that's with a 147 game in the middle.  I'm happy with that.   Sorry we missed you and I understand you had your round in Nashville now too.  When do you go to Vegas?  Well hope you do well and have a great time.  We'll probably still be bowling the fall/winter league.  Whoever invented the 36 week league?  Ugh!!  You guys take care.  See your 'round here or on Facebook!

Hey Mike,
Sorry I missed you guys this past weekend.  Boy those were some nasty storms that came thru.  We had good food, good drinks,  and a good time even though I didn't get to bowl.  Maybe next time

Hi Mike.....glad to hear that work is going well. I'm kind of in the same boat you are...trying to get caught up on LS. I've been spending alot of time on Facebook and and have been neglecting my blogs and homepage on LS. The past couple of weeks, my bowling has improved. Nothing fantastic....but better than it has been. Hope your bowling is going well. Talk to you again....keep those drinks comin'.....Bill

Thanks for the connection request.  I am secretary in two leagues, and might add a third next year...

I lived in Cookeville in the 60's, sister graduated from UT.  She still lives in Signal Mountain.

Keep up the good work.

Hi Mike,
Thank you for the connection.  I am closer to the Knoxville area, but will be visiting Nashville to bowl in the TNWBA State Tourney in March.  I too am a league sec. and since I work for a travel agency, I usually get elected as the trip coordinator for all the tourneys we attend, with the exception of the Hoinke.  The owner of our bowling alley handles that one!!!  After the March match up in Nashville, then we are off to Reno in April.  Check out my site when you get time and post as many comments as you like.  Thanks again for the connection.  Keep in touch and Merry Christmas.
